The congratulatory calls came after early results from constituencies across the country showed Dr. Bawumia in a commanding lead.

Speaking on the call, Dr. Acheampong acknowledged his own aspirations but emphasised respect for the delegates’ decision, describing the outcome as guided by God and reflective of the party’s democratic process.

He also thanked supporters who voted for him and expressed his willingness to accept the results in the spirit of unity.

“I just called to congratulate you on a very good election. You have done well. This is a God factor, so let us keep it like that. My big brother, congratulations. Democracy has won, the internal election has won. We are very happy with the results that we got,” he said.

Provisional results indicate Dr. Bawumia has polled over 90,000 votes, while the remaining candidates collectively share around 50,000 votes, further reinforcing his projected victory as collation continues.
