NPP Needs A Chairman Who Can Restore Stability And Sanity – Joseph Osei Owusu Backs Boakye Agyarko

Senior Campaign Advisor to NPP National Chairman hopeful Boakye Agyarko, Joseph Osei Owusu, has outlined the qualities he believes the next National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) must possess to restore stability, discipline and sanity within the party.

Speaking in an interview with Kwame Tanko, Mr Osei Owusu reflected on his involvement in party activities dating back to 1991/92, saying he had witnessed a period when NPP national chairmen played a critical role in maintaining peace, discipline and cohesion within the party. chairmen.

He said the NPP has since deviated from that type of leadership and needs a chairman capable of bringing stability and confidence back to the party.

Hon. Osei Owusu mentioned former NPP chairmen including B. J. da Rocha, Odaaw Gyamfi, Peter Ala Adjetey, Haruna Esseku, F. F. Anto and Mac Manu as leaders who, in his view, demonstrated qualities that helped provide stability and direction to the party.

He argued that the next chairman must be someone who has enough time to dedicate to party work and is committed to strengthening the party from the grassroots.

He also stressed the need for a chairman who would put the interests of the NPP ahead of personal enrichment.

“The party needs somebody who doesn’t talk anyhow, somebody who is an academician, somebody who will put honesty where it belongs and somebody people believe in,” he said.

Hon. Osei Owusu further said the next NPP chairman must be disciplined in communication, respected by party members and capable of bringing the various factions and interests within the party together.

He maintained that such qualities are necessary to rebuild stability and strengthen the party’s structures as the NPP prepares for its next phase of leadership.
