The lifeless body of a newborn baby girl was discovered at the Kronkromase Cemetery on Sunday, April 5, 2026, prompting a police investigation into the circumstances of her death.
Abdul Samid, the Assembly Member for the Atasomanso Electoral Area, said he and local residents reported the discovery to the Kronkromase Police Station immediately after finding the child.
The Upper Ashanti Regional Police confirmed that the newborn’s body has been taken to the morgue as authorities investigate.
Police have launched inquiries to identify the parents and determine how the baby came to be abandoned. They are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward to assist with the investigation.
