Accra, December 11, 2025 — MTN Ghana has graduated 80 young professionals from its 2025 Graduate Development Programme, a flagship initiative aimed at nurturing future leaders and advancing female inclusion within the company.
The ceremony, held on November 20, 2025, at the Marriott Hotel in Accra, brought together participants from MTN operations across Africa.
Abdallah Ibrahim, Acting Chief Human Resource Officer for MTN Ghana, reiterated the company’s strategic focus on increasing female representation within its workforce.

“We have leveraged the Graduate Development Programme to drive female representation within the company. About 60% of the graduate delegates are women, which is a key initiative in our quest to reach 50% female representation by 2030,” he said.
Abdallah noted that this deliberate effort is already yielding significant results, pointing to steady progress in gender representation. “We have added approximately 5% more females to the workforce since we began tracking our progress in 2020. Today, we stand at about 43% female representation within our organization,” he added.
Delivering the keynote address, Sylvia Owusu-Ankomah, Chief Executive Officer of the Telecoms Chamber, praised MTN for its commitment to developing African talent and highlighted the strong presence of women in the graduating class. “It’s exciting to see that over 60% of today’s graduates are women,” she said, encouraging them to remain authentic and resilient in an increasingly competitive digital environment.

Kagiso Malepe, Manager of the MTN Global Graduate Programme, emphasized the importance of unifying participants from diverse cultural and national backgrounds. “Our biggest task is harmonizing diverse perspectives and helping participants immerse themselves in MTN’s organizational culture.

With MTN operating across multiple markets, the message of one culture, one MTN is fundamental,” he explained.

The 80 graduates, drawn from 18 African countries, received certificates and will assume various roles within MTN. They are expected to contribute to the company’s mission of developing African leaders in technology, digital services, and business innovation.
