Mason Jailed Eight Years for Robbing Pharmacist of GH¢4,500 iPhone
Michael Okyere was convicted after a full trial for forcibly taking a pharmacist’s phone at Denchemuoso near Kwadaso.

The Kwadaso Circuit Court in the Ashanti Region has sentenced a 35-year-old mason, Michael Okyere, to eight years’ imprisonment for robbing a pharmacist at Denchemuoso, near Kwadaso.
Okyere, who pleaded not guilty to the charge, was convicted after a full trial presided over by Justice Jephthar Appau.
How the robbery happened
Police Chief Inspector David Opoku Kwabi, presenting the facts before the court, said the complainant, Salomey Ametefe Enyonam, was an attendant at Kingsley Nsiah Chemist at Atwima Techiman.
The court heard that on January 22, 2025, at about 9:00 a.m., Ms Enyonam reported for duty at the pharmacy.
About 15 minutes later, Okyere entered the shop and asked to see the doctor in charge.
According to the prosecution, the complainant asked him to wait while she contacted the doctor.
Okyere allegedly became aggressive, pushed her against a refrigerator in the office and forcibly took her iPhone 11, valued at GH¢4,500.
He then fled the scene.
Arrest and conviction
The prosecution said Ms Enyonam raised an alarm, attracting the attention of some youths in the area.
The youths pursued Okyere and arrested him before handing him over to the Denchemuoso Police.
In his caution statement, Okyere admitted committing the offence and pleaded for leniency.
Following investigations, he was charged and brought before the Kwadaso Circuit Court.
After a full trial, the court found him guilty and sentenced him to eight years’ imprisonment.
