Mark Okraku Seeks Third Term as Fanteakwa South NDC Chairman, Eyes 2028 Victory
Incumbent chairman files nomination with executive team ahead of October constituency elections

The incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman for Fanteakwa South Constituency in the Eastern Region, Mark Okraku, has officially submitted his nomination forms at the party’s office in Osino to seek re-election for a third term with a called on delegates to choose unifier to lead the constituency.
Okraku, who aims to lead the party into the 2028 general elections, was joined by all members of his executive team seeking re-election, who have also filed their respective forms, signaling collective readiness to serve.
The NDC is scheduled to hold its constituency executive elections on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25, 2026, to choose leaders who will steer the party’s affairs until 2030.
Speaking after filing, Chairman Okraku called on delegates to retain his executive team following what he described as a historic performance in the 2024 elections.
Reflecting on his eight-year tenure, he noted that his team successfully normalized wearing NDC colours in what was once considered a strict NPP stronghold.
“I am the only person among the constituency executives that members of the NPP fear because of my dynamics and strategies,” he stated.
He said thanks to targeted strategies, the NDC saw an unprecedented jump of over 3,000 votes in the 2024 elections compared to 2020, and urged delegates to maintain continuity to guarantee victory in 2028.
The Constituency Organizer, Samuel Siaw Shadrack, said the team will not relent on their efforts and will campaign on the good works of the government to convince disgruntled NPP members to join the NDC to retain power.
On his part, Constituency Secretary Benjamin Darko commended the President and the DCE of Fanteakwa South for physical developments in the district, including construction of schools, CHPS compounds and mechanized boreholes.
He added that Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) are receiving timely support and that these interventions will translate into votes in the next elections, while calling on delegates to retain him and other executive members to continue their good works.
