Lawson Media has raised GHS 130,000 to support Sandra Boateng, who was seriously injured during the military recruitment stampede at Baba Yara Stadium in the Ashanti Region on November 12, 2025.
Mr. Isaac Antwi, popularly known as Gede, the General manager of Lawson Media, highlighted the emotional impact of the incident. He revealed that he broke down in tears in his office when listeners and viewers began donating immediately after the announcement.

He commended the public for their heartfelt support and expressed hope that Sandra will recover and appear on TV to personally thank all contributors.
The Programs Manager, “Simple Man”, also expressed gratitude to the listeners and viewers for their generosity.

Mercy Boateng, Sandra’s mother, was present in the studio to receive the donation. She recounted that Sandra had consistently applied for military recruitment forms in the past but had never been selected.
She explained that this was the last recruitment attempt she made for her daughter when the unfortunate incident occurred.

Following the stampede, Sandra was initially admitted to Emena Hospital for three days before being transferred to KATH, where she spent over a month and a week in the ICU in a coma.
According to her mother, Sandra was discharged while still not fully recovered.
However, after Lawson Media’s Kwame Tanko engaged the Deputy Defence Minister, Hon. Brogya Genfi on the Ghana Se Sen Morning Show this week, the minister ordered that Sandra be immediately readmitted to KATH for further treatment.
Mercy Boateng was visibly emotional after receiving the donation, pouring out a heartfelt thanksgiving to Lawson Media and the listeners and viewers for their support.
She expressed hope that the funds will aid her daughter’s recovery and said that everyone who contributed has formed a covenant with God, praying that the donation will bring blessings to their future generations.
Sandra, a graduate nurse, sustained serious injuries during the preliminary stage of the GAF 2025 recruitment exercise.
A short clip circulated showed her lying in bed with a nasogastric (NG) tube, used for feeding and administering medication. She was among the many who thronged recruitment centers across the nation during the exercise.
