Kofi Sarpong Among 22 Senior Police Officers Decorated by IGP Yohuno
Gospel musician and fellow officers formally receive their new Deputy Commissioner of Police ranks.

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno has decorated 22 senior police officers who have been promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP).
Among those decorated is renowned gospel musician and police officer, Kofi Sarpong.

The ceremony marked the formal recognition of the officers following their promotion and forms part of the Ghana Police Service’s efforts to strengthen its leadership and administration.
The newly promoted officers include:

DCOP Gifty Serwaa

DCOP Thomas Frimpong

DCOP William Acolatse

DCOP Richard Appiah
The decoration ceremony was presided over by IGP Yohuno, who formally adorned the officers with their new rank insignia.
The promotion of the 22 officers brings them into the senior leadership ranks of the Ghana Police Service, where they are expected to take on greater responsibilities in the discharge of their duties.
Kofi Sarpong, who is well known for his contribution to Ghana’s gospel music scene, has also continued to serve within the Ghana Police Service alongside his music career.
