A K9 detection dog has helped US authorities intercept a consignment of prohibited agricultural products from Ghana at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
The dog, identified as Rowdy, alerted officers to a bag arriving from Ghana that contained about 72 pounds of yams, vegetables and spices.
According to US authorities, all the items were prohibited from entering the country and were stopped at the border.
In a post on X, officials praised Rowdy for detecting the consignment and preventing the agricultural products from entering the United States.
The US maintains strict restrictions on certain agricultural products to protect its farming industry and prevent the introduction of pests and plant diseases.
Authorities ended the post with a light-hearted tribute to Rowdy, asking: “Who’s a good dog?”
