Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has said he is ready to submit himself to any investigation into allegations of extortion levelled against him by Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) Chief Executive Officer, Sammy Gyamfi.
Speaking during Parliament’s emergency recall sitting on Monday, August 24, 2026, Mr Afenyo-Markin challenged his accusers to formally report the allegations to the Police, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) or any other authorised investigative body.
He said he would fully cooperate with any investigation to clear his name.
The Minority Leader disclosed that he has already taken legal action against some individuals and media organisations over the allegations, with two separate cases filed at the courts.
He expressed confidence that the courts would fairly determine the matters and described his willingness to submit to investigations as taking the “high moral ground.”
Mr Afenyo-Markin also cautioned politicians and other actors against crossing what he described as unacceptable boundaries in political discourse.
He maintained that he has served as Minority Leader with integrity and remained committed to the responsibilities entrusted to him.
