Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has expressed disappointment with the conduct of some officials under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, particularly amid the ongoing controversy involving the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) and Manhyia South MP Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah.

Speaking in an interview Mr Kpebu criticised what he described as the misuse of state authority by some government officials.

“It is a shame, I didn’t campaign for the NDC to come and do this nonsense,” he said.

Mr Kpebu recalled his active support for the NDC ahead of the 2024 general elections, arguing that he and other party supporters made significant sacrifices to help the party return to power.

He questioned why the NDC, after winning the 2024 election, would allow state institutions to engage in conduct he considers unacceptable.

“Then you [NDC] come, this is how you are misusing the power?” he lamented.

Mr Kpebu also warned that controversies surrounding EOCO’s conduct could undermine public confidence in the government and have political consequences for the NDC.

He cautioned that if concerns surrounding the agency’s actions are not addressed, the governing party could pay an electoral price in the 2028 general elections.
