Popular Ghanaian actress and television presenter Nana Ama McBrown has publicly confirmed her divorce from her husband of 12 years, Maxwell Mensah, in an interview.

She explained that the decision to end the marriage was mutual and amicable, with no bitterness between them.

“I’m the happiest right now. Yes, I am divorced, and I’m not ashamed to say it. I did it beautifully. Me and my husband are cool. We speak, we meet, I visit our house and my in-laws regularly. I am a happy woman. We are the best of friends,” McBrown said.

She emphasized that despite the separation, she maintains a cordial relationship with her ex-husband and his family. While her former in-laws and ex-husband hoped the marriage could continue, she felt it was no longer possible.

“He is a correct guy. I still care for him, but I got tired of the marriage,” she added.

The actress also clarified that their marriage was contracted under customary law, so the separation primarily involved discussions between the two families.

Highlighting the positive side of the union, McBrown shared that her greatest joy is their daughter, Maxine, describing her as a precious gift from the marriage.

“I will not marry again. I can give birth again, but I won’t marry again,” she stated.

Reflecting on her 12-year marriage, McBrown urged appreciation for long-lasting celebrity unions:

“I have married for 12 years. When you see celebrities who have married for 12 years, applaud them.”

Prior to this announcement, rumors had circulated about difficulties in the couple’s marriage, including reports suggesting alleged extramarital affairs involving Maxwell Mensah may have contributed to the separation.
