GoldBod Commits GH¢8.4 Million to Restore Water Supply Systems

The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has signed a GH¢8.4 million agreement with Ghana Water Limited (GWL) to rehabilitate the Bonsa, Daboase, and Sekyere Heman Water Supply Systems in the Western and Central Regions.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, GoldBod Chief Executive Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, said the project was approved following an independent technical assessment, underscoring the Board’s commitment to responsible mining, environmental protection, and improving the well-being of communities.

The Managing Director of Ghana Water Limited, Adam Mutawakilu, expressed appreciation to GoldBod for the intervention, describing it as timely and crucial to restoring water production and enhancing reliable water supply in communities that have faced years of operational setbacks.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to safeguarding the environment while investing in critical infrastructure that improves access to clean and safe water.
