The Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in China hosted a press soiree in Beijing to promote Ghana’s 69th Independence Anniversary celebrations and highlight investment opportunities in the country.
The event, held at the China World Summit Wing, also outlined the activities planned for March 6, 2026, and drew participation from several Chinese media outlets.
Addressing the media, Ghana’s Ambassador to China, Kojo Bonsu, emphasized Ghana’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with China. He highlighted the country’s stable democracy, business-friendly environment, and rich cultural heritage, and called on Chinese media institutions to partner with the embassy in promoting trade and investment opportunities.
He noted sectors with strong growth potential, including infrastructure, clean energy, IT and AI, healthcare, mineral processing, and agriculture.
The embassy’s Independence Day activities will feature a business forum aimed at unlocking trade and investment opportunities between Ghana and China. An art exhibition will showcase Ghana’s cultural heritage, featuring works by renowned artist Ibrahim Mahama, as well as other talented Ghanaian artists, including child prodigy Ace Liam Nana Sam Ankrah, recognized by the Guinness World Records.
The celebrations will also include a fashion show by Nineteen57 and other designers, highlighting Ghana’s fashion industry through creations that blend traditional and modern styles.
Ambassador Bonsu and his team expressed gratitude to the Chinese government and media for their continued support and invited them to join Ghana in celebrating its Independence Day on March 6.
He reiterated Ghana’s commitment to deepening its strategic partnership with China and exploring new avenues for cooperation.
Through these initiatives, the embassy aims to promote Ghana as a destination for investment, tourism, and cultural exchange.
