Fiery Multi-Vehicle Crash Near Bunso Junction Claims Two Lives
STC bus, two fuel tankers and two other vehicles involved in deadly collision as authorities investigate cause

Two people have lost their lives while six others sustained injuries following a devastating multi-vehicle accident at Etukrom, near Bunso Junction in the Eastern Region.
The fatal crash occurred on Monday, August 3, and involved a State Transport Company (STC) bus, two fuel tankers, a Kia Sorento, and a Mitsubishi pick-up. The impact of the collision sparked a massive fire that engulfed the STC bus, one of the fuel tankers and the Mitsubishi pick-up.
Emergency responders said two occupants became trapped inside the burning vehicles and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The force of the crash also pushed the second fuel tanker off the road into a nearby river, where it later caught fire, complicating rescue efforts.
Six other victims, made up of four men and two women, suffered varying degrees of injuries and were transported to Hawa Memorial Hospital in Osiem for treatment.
A member of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) Communications Team, Alex King Nartey, confirmed the incident, saying firefighters and other emergency personnel responded swiftly to extinguish the flames, rescue victims and secure the accident scene.
Authorities have launched investigations to determine the cause of the collision, with more details expected as inquiries continue.
