Ghanaian musician and businessman Criss Waddle has urged the government to provide meaningful, safer and improved alternatives following the demolition of businesses at the La Pleasure Beach in Accra.
The demolition exercise took place on Friday, October 2, 2026, as authorities cleared businesses operating along the beach front.
In a social media post, Criss Waddle called on the government to ensure that affected business owners and workers are provided with viable alternatives following the exercise.
He cautioned that demolitions without adequate replacement facilities could have consequences for the government, particularly among business owners and employees whose livelihoods have been affected.
According to him, any replacement for the demolished businesses should be safer, improved and capable of providing affected people with sustainable opportunities.
He further urged authorities to ensure that the concerns of affected businesses and workers are addressed before the next elections.
