Adwoa Safo Rejects Funeral Delay Claims, Confirms Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s Burial Starts July 30
The former Dome-Kwabenya MP says funeral arrangements have been finalized despite reported disagreements within the Safo family.

Former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has dismissed claims that the funeral arrangements for the late Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka remain unresolved, insisting that the burial ceremony will commence on Thursday, July 30, 2026.
Her comments follow a recent statement by her brother, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I, Head of the Safo Family and leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana, who indicated that disagreements surrounding the funeral arrangements had delayed the confirmation of a burial date.
Speaking on Accra-based FM, Adwoa Safo rejected those claims, stating that the funeral committee had completed all necessary arrangements after consultations with key stakeholders, including the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and former President John Agyekum Kufuor.
She alleged that the Head of the Safo Family failed to proceed with an earlier funeral date scheduled for June 25, resulting in the current arrangements for the final funeral rites to take place in the last week of July.
“On the 30th of July, we will go to Gomoa Mpota to bury my late father. On the 31st of July, we will be at Independence Square for the funeral service. Then, on the 8th of August, we will travel to Asante Mampong in Kumasi for the thanksgiving service. Everyone should disregard rumours that the funeral will not take place or has been cancelled,” she said.
Adwoa Safo also revealed that she has successfully undergone surgery after sustaining gunshot injuries during the coronation ceremony of Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I.
