The Ghana National Fire Service has confirmed that three people have died following the collapse of an uncompleted four-storey structure at the Experimental D/A School in Accra New Town.

The incident occurred around 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2026, when the Fire Service received a distress call about the structural failure.

A total of 23 individuals—comprising 15 females and 8 males, including three children—were trapped beneath the debris.

Rescue teams from the GNFS, working alongside other emergency agencies, managed to save 20 victims, who were quickly transported to nearby health facilities for medical care.

However, three victims—two महिलes and one male—lost their lives. Their bodies have since been handed over to the police for preservation and further investigations.

Emergency and security personnel remain at the scene to complete clearing operations and ensure the area is safe.

The Fire Service praised its responders for their swift action, professionalism, and dedication, noting that their efforts played a crucial role in saving lives. It also expressed gratitude to partner agencies for their support and coordination.

The GNFS extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wished those injured a speedy recovery.
