A/R: Police Arrest Five Suspected Robbers in Connection with Robbery and Murder; Recover Stolen Electronics
Ashanti Regional Police seize stolen phones, laptops, and other items from suspects

The Ashanti Regional Police Service has arrested five suspected armed robbers in connection with multiple criminal incidents across the region, including a robbery and murder case at Asokore Mampong.
The December 6, 2025 attack claimed the life of Silvia Ngozi around 5:00 pm.
Two main suspects, Farouk Iddrisu (20), a motor mechanic and rider, and Sadiq Mohammed (19), a Pragia rider, were apprehended on December 12, 2025, at their hideout in Aboabo.
In addition, police arrested three other suspects—Abdul Fatau (22), Philip Nyarko (24), and Smack Haddy (21)—in connection with separate armed robbery incidents at KNUST, Kenyase, Antoa Bosore, and Maayanka.
Authorities recovered a large cache of stolen items, including 59 iPhones, 6 Android phones, 4 tablets, 5 laptops, a knife, and a cattlas, from the suspects.
Speaking to the press, Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Osei Akoto Arthur, praised the police team for their diligence in tracking down the criminals.

“We are committed to ensuring that perpetrators of such heinous crimes face the full force of the law,” DCOP Arthur said. He also urged the public to continue supporting the police in their efforts to combat crime and bring justice to victims and their families.
The suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting with ongoing investigations.
