Ghana Jollof Case: High Court To Hear Salomey Baffoe’s Bail Application Today
Salomey Baffoe’s lawyers are seeking her release from custody, arguing that the police investigation has been completed and there is no basis for her continued detention.

The High Court is expected to hear today, Wednesday, September 23, 2026, a bail application filed by lawyers for senior nursing officer Salomey Awity Baffoe, who is facing an abetment of crime charge in connection with the “Ghana Jollof” case.
The application, filed on Friday, September 18, is scheduled to be heard at 9:00 a.m. at the High Court Complex, with the defence seeking her release from custody.
Salomey’s lawyer, Nana Adjei Baffour Awuah, has expressed confidence that the court will grant the application and allow his client to reunite with her children.
He argued that there is no justification for Salomey’s continued detention, insisting that the police investigation has effectively been completed.
The defence further contends that there is no outstanding investigation requiring Salomey to remain in custody.
Salomey is facing a charge of abetment of crime, to wit, publication of false news. She has pleaded not guilty after the Adentan Circuit Court remanded her for two weeks on Friday, September 18.
According to the police, Salomey allegedly assisted Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, identified as the operator of the “Ghana Jollof” TikTok account and believed to be in the United Kingdom, to distribute videos and recruit others to circulate the content.
Police further allege that forensic analysis of Salomey’s mobile phone, including audio and video files, as well as mobile money records, revealed financial links between her and Ms Kodua.
The bail hearing follows growing public attention surrounding Salomey’s continued detention, with her lawyers challenging the basis for her remand and aspects of the investigation.
She is scheduled to return to the Adentan Circuit Court on September 28 for further proceedings in the substantive case.
The High Court’s decision today will determine whether Salomey remains in custody pending trial or is released on bail.
