UCC Postpones 2026 Sandwich Students’ Matriculation Indefinitely
The university cites the ongoing GAUA strike and disruption of key administrative processes as the reason for the postponement.

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has indefinitely postponed the matriculation ceremony for its 2026 Sandwich students, which was scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026.
According to a statement signed by the University Registrar, Gideon Enoch Abbeyquaye, the decision follows the ongoing strike by the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA).
The university explained that the industrial action has disrupted critical administrative processes needed to organise the ceremony.
The postponement affects all 2026 Sandwich students who were scheduled to be formally matriculated on August 15.
UCC said a new date for the ceremony will be announced once normal administrative activities resume.
Management apologised for any inconvenience caused to affected students, their families and staff, while expressing appreciation for their cooperation and understanding.
