Integrity Care Services has officially inaugurated an ultra-modern nursing home at Krapa in the Ejisu Municipality to provide quality care and support for the elderly and vulnerable in society.

The facility, equipped with modern healthcare and residential amenities, is expected to offer professional nursing care, rehabilitation services, and a comfortable living environment for elderly persons who require specialized attention.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of Integrity Care Services called on Ghanaians to place greater priority on the health and well-being of their elderly parents and other family members. According to the CEO, caring for the aged should not be seen as a burden but rather a responsibility and a way of showing gratitude for their sacrifices during their productive years.

The CEO stressed that many elderly persons face neglect and health challenges due to inadequate support from relatives and caregivers, urging families to regularly monitor their health needs and ensure they receive the necessary medical attention and emotional support.

Meanwhile, the Board Chairman of the organisation, Gilbert, appealed to the public to desist from branding elderly persons as witches and wizards. He condemned the growing trend of stigmatisation and discrimination against the aged, describing it as inhumane and harmful to their dignity and mental well-being.

He noted that such accusations often lead to isolation, abuse, and emotional trauma for elderly individuals, and called on communities to show compassion, respect, and care instead.

The establishment of the nursing home is expected to contribute significantly to improving elderly care within the municipality and beyond, while promoting a culture of respect and protection for senior citizens.

Officials of Integrity Care Services expressed optimism that the facility will serve as a model for elderly care in Ghana and help address the growing need for specialised support services for the aged.
