Football lovers in Kumasi are set for a historic experience as Lawson Media prepares to host a massive live screening of the UEFA Champions League Final between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal at Bantama Parliament Street on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
The event, organised by Lawson Media in collaboration with Lawson Limited Company and Kwame Poku CID, is expected to attract over 5,000 football fans for a night of entertainment, passion, and football excitement on giant screens.
Speaking in an interview on the Lawson TV/Radio Ghana Se Sen Morning Show, Clement Opoku Gyamfi, popularly known as Kwame Poku CID, revealed that preparations are far advanced for what he described as a “football festival for unity.”
He said organising such events is a God-given gift and commended Lawson Media for its commitment to bringing people together through sports and entertainment.
According to him, football remains a unifying force that brings people together regardless of background, stressing that the focus of the event is unity and enjoyment rather than division.
“This is not about politics. Football unites us. We can do politics after the match,” he noted.
Kwame Poku CID also disclosed that over 5,000 fans are expected to converge at the venue and assured that security arrangements have been strengthened to ensure safety and order throughout the event.
He further encouraged fans to behave responsibly, adding that several dignitaries and notable personalities are expected to grace the occasion.
The programme will begin from 10:00am to 12:00pm with a full-day entertainment package before kickoff. Fans will be treated to free hot fufu served with chicken soup, alongside refreshing Lawson De-Ray Man Ginger Liqueur.
Free popcorn will also be available throughout the day to keep fans refreshed as they enjoy the build-up and the final match.
Beyond the football action, attendees will have the opportunity to interact with presenters and staff of Lawson Media, creating a closer connection with the media house.
