The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, has assured the people of the Ashanti Region that the “dumsor” being experienced in the region will end by September 2026.
He made this promise during a tour of the Ashanti Region with some engineers and experts from the ECG.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, together with ECG engineers and the Energy Minister, inspected major electricity infrastructure projects, including the transformer upgrade and replacement programme at the Ridge Substation, the Anwomaso-to-Boadi-to-Kaase transmission line project, and the Anwomaso-to-Airport transmission line works.
The team also visited the AKSA and CENIT facilities as part of efforts to improve power supply in Kumasi and other parts of the country.
According to the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, new transformers have been brought to the region to help stabilize the electricity system.
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, also expressed gratitude to the Energy Minister and his team.
He further assured the ministry that he would lead a public education campaign to inform people in the Ashanti Region about the ongoing developments in the region.
