The Ashanti Regional Deputy Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Baah Acheamfuor, says the party is determined to consolidate its gains in the Ashanti Region and capture more parliamentary seats in future elections.
According to him, the NDC is already strategizing to strengthen its presence in constituencies it won during the last elections while intensifying efforts in areas traditionally considered strongholds of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking in an interview with Kwame Tanko on the Ghana Se Sen Show on Lawson TV/Radio, Acheamfuor said the party would work diligently in constituencies it has taken from the NPP, citing New Edubiase as an example of how sustained grassroots work transformed the area into a strong NDC seat.

“We will go back to the constituencies we won from the NPP and work hard there just as we did in New Edubiase, which has now become an NDC seat,” he stated.
He further alleged that the NDC legitimately won constituencies such as Obuasi West, Ahafo Ano South West and Ahafo Ano North, but claimed the NPP used aggression to snatch those seats from the party.
Acheamfuor stressed that the NDC considers the seats it currently holds in the Ashanti Region as temporary mandates from the electorate and intends to work tirelessly to transform them into permanent strongholds.
He mentioned constituencies such as Ahafo Ano South East, Akrofuom and Adansi Asokwa as examples of areas the party hopes to firmly maintain in future elections.

According to him, the party’s focus is not only to protect the seats it has already secured in the region but also to increase its electoral fortunes significantly in the next general elections.
“The next election, Ghanaians will see the percentage the NDC will obtain in the Ashanti Region,” he said confidently.
Acheamfuor also admitted that the party made certain mistakes during the 2024 elections, noting that lessons have been learnt and strategies are being refined to improve the NDC’s performance going forward.
