Mary Tawiah, a 24-year-old nursing mother, has been arrested by the Kasoa Divisional Police Command’s DOVVSU unit for allegedly trying to poison her own child after discovering her boyfriend’s infidelity.

Her boyfriend, Kobby Nbelenbele, is also in custody and cooperating with authorities.

The tense incident took place at Kasoa Old Market in the Central Region’s Awutu Senya East Municipality.

According to reports, Mary and Kobby, who live in Teshie, had a falling out after Kobby allegedly left Mary for another woman in Kasoa.

Witnesses say Mary confronted Kobby and his new partner at the market, which escalated into a heated argument.

During the confrontation, Mary reportedly threatened to poison their child and tried to administer a suspicious substance to the boy.

Bystanders quickly intervened, stopping her and handing her over to police for further investigation.
