Suspected Robber Killed In Gunfight With Police At Agbogbloshie
Police recover AK-47 and 186 rounds of ammunition as three other suspects escape.

A suspected armed robber has been shot dead during a gunfight with police near Agbogbloshie in Accra.
The Accra Regional Police Command also recovered an AK-47 rifle and 186 rounds of ammunition following the incident.
The incident occurred at Galoway on Thursday, September 10, 2026, after police received intelligence that four armed men riding two motorbikes were heading to a Shell filling station in the area to carry out a robbery.
A team from the Accra Regional Police Intelligence and Professional Standards Directorate, supported by the Operational Unit, moved to intercept the suspects at the Galoway Police Barrier.
A gunfight ensued, resulting in one of the suspects being shot, while the other three abandoned their motorbikes and fled.
Police recovered an AK-47 rifle, serial number 79-HF-3014, fitted with a double magazine containing 136 rounds of ammunition, from the injured suspect. Another 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition were also retrieved from him.
The suspect was rushed to the Police Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. His body has since been deposited at the Police Hospital mortuary for identification and autopsy.
Police also retrieved two unregistered motorbikes, a Royal and an Apsonic, which have been retained as exhibits alongside the firearm and ammunition.
The Accra Regional Police Command says efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest the three remaining suspects and establish the full circumstances surrounding the planned robbery.
