Six Killed in Tricycle–Timber Truck Crash at Asikuma, Western North Region
One critically injured as police launch investigations into tragic road accident

A tragic road accident at Asikuma, located between the Bia West and Bia East districts in the Western North Region, has claimed six lives and left one person in critical condition.
According to reports, eight people were traveling on a tricycle (aboboyaa) from Asuopiri in Bia West to Adabokrom in Bia East for farming activities when disaster struck.
Upon reaching a sloping section of the road near Asikuma, a timber truck traveling from Adabokrom reportedly lost control and collided with the tricycle. Six passengers were killed instantly, while one sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Assamu Government Hospital for treatment.
Eyewitnesses noted that the tricycle rider managed to jump off moments before the crash, though his current whereabouts remain unknown. Community youths have launched a search to locate him and confirm his condition.
The timber truck driver has voluntarily reported to the Dabeso District Police Command, while police officials have visited the scene, conveyed the bodies to the morgue, and commenced investigations to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
