Leader of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Bernard Anbataayela Mornah, says the party is repositioning itself to present what he describes as a “rebranded and formidable PNC” as an alternative to the two major political parties ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Speaking during an informal meeting with national chairpersons and other party officials in the Ashanti Region, Mornah said the engagement had strengthened the party’s resolve to rebuild and reorganize itself into a formidable political force.
He criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for making promises to Ghanaians while in opposition but failing to live up to expectations after assuming power.
Mornah acknowledged that some economic indicators appear to be improving, including declining inflation and the relative stability of the local currency.
However, he argued that many of the country’s natural resources remain under the control of foreigners, despite government claims that the economy is in good shape.
He further stated that unemployment remains high, with many Ghanaians struggling to earn sustainable incomes even as the economy is said to be recovering.
He added that, in the coming months, Ghanaians will witness major developments within the PNC as the party works to position itself strongly for the 2028 elections.
Meanwhile, Kabah Abraham Hirohito, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the PNC, speaking to the media, urged politicians to use appropriate channels for communication rather than resorting to insults on radio and television stations.
