Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden has signed a new four-year contract extension, committing his future to the Etihad Stadium until 2030.
The 26-year-old’s previous contract was set to expire next summer, but the England international has opted to lock in his long-term future under new head coach Enzo Maresca.
“I can’t wait to work with Enzo again,” Foden said, referencing the Italian manager’s previous stint as Pep Guardiola’s assistant during City’s historic Treble-winning 2022–23 campaign.
Since making his senior debut as a 17-year-old under Guardiola, the academy graduate has amassed 369 appearances for his boyhood club. His trophy-laden spell in Manchester includes six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, and a UEFA Champions League trophy.
Foden will be eager to hit top form under Maresca following a challenging 2025–26 season—where he recorded seven goals and five assists in 23 league starts—which ultimately led to his omission from Thomas Tuchel’s England World Cup squad in May.
