Patapaa Announces Mother’s Funeral Date, Appeals for Massive Support
Musician invites fans, media, and public to join family in honoring late mother in Agona Swedru

Ghanaian musician Patapaa has officially announced the date for the final funeral rites of his beloved mother, Madam Ekua Boatemaa, popularly known as “Boat.”
In a heartfelt public invitation, the artiste described his late mother as his “first love” and called on the public, his loyal fanbase—the Pa2pa Sojas—as well as the media, to come out in their numbers to support the family and celebrate her life.
The funeral is scheduled to take place from Friday, May 8 to Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Assisim in Agona Swedru.
Activities will begin with a wake-keeping ceremony on Friday. This will be followed by a lying-in-state and burial service on Saturday, May 9, with interment at the Agona Swedru Public Cemetery later that same day. A thanksgiving service will then be held on Sunday, May 10, at the Gospel Ambassador Church.
The bereaved family has expressed gratitude to well-wishers and the general public for their continued support as they prepare to lay Madam Ekua Boatemaa to rest.
