NPP To Centralise Delegates’ Accommodation Ahead Of National Elections
Party says centralised arrangements will ensure an orderly and transparent electoral process

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will take responsibility for the accommodation and feeding of delegates ahead of its national executive elections as part of measures to prevent candidates from camping delegates, according to the Chairperson of the party’s Organisation Committee, Anthony Karbo.
Mr Karbo said the arrangement is intended to support an orderly and transparent electoral process by ensuring that delegates are accommodated at designated facilities rather than locations selected by individual candidates.
“I think it will be extremely difficult for anybody to camp delegates because we are taking full control of the accommodation and feeding,” he said.
He made the comments in an interview with Citi News’ Hanson Agyemang ahead of the NPP’s national executive elections scheduled for October 3, 2026.
According to Mr Karbo, delegates arriving in Kumasi on Friday will be accommodated at designated facilities, with most of the arrangements made at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
He explained that while candidates would still be permitted to meet delegates at their hostels, the centralised accommodation system would make it difficult for candidates to keep groups of delegates together for organised campaign activities.
The Organisation Committee has also made arrangements covering feeding, security, media and traffic management for the elections.
Mr Karbo said the committee is targeting a 9:00 a.m. start for voting and plans to expedite the voting, counting, declaration and swearing-in processes.
He said the objective is to enable delegates to complete the exercise and return home without having to remain in Kumasi until the early hours of the following day.
