Speaking in an interview with the Lawson Media team at Jubilee Park, where the Ashanti Regional elections are being held, Dr. Adutwum said the atmosphere was calm and expressed hope that the NPP would emerge victorious from the exercise.
He stressed that the significance of the election goes beyond the victory of individual candidates, emphasizing that the ultimate objective should be strengthening the NPP ahead of the 2028 general elections.
According to Dr. Adutwum, the party will work with whoever is elected to any position, regardless of their personal affiliations, to help achieve the NPP’s broader objectives.
He urged delegates and candidates to conduct themselves peacefully and remain united before, during and after the election.
Dr. Adutwum further appealed to candidates who emerge victorious to be magnanimous in victory by reaching out to their opponents and working together for the progress of the party.
He also encouraged unsuccessful candidates not to lose hope, reminding them that there would be other opportunities to serve the party.
“The NPP will be victorious, not individuals,” Dr. Adutwum stated, stressing that the party’s collective success should remain the priority.
The Ashanti Regional election is taking place at Jubilee Park in Kumasi, with 1,022 delegates expected to cast their ballots across four polling stations as the NPP elects its new regional executives.
