Manhyia South Member of Parliament Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah is expected to report himself to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) today, October 1, 2026.

Sources close to the legislator say the MP’s decision follows a High Court warrant issued on Wednesday, September 30, authorising EOCO to arrest him.

The warrant was issued after EOCO told the court that it had exhausted reasonable efforts to secure the MP’s voluntary attendance.

The development comes a week after EOCO officers attempted to arrest Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah at the Accra High Court on September 23.

According to EOCO, the attempted arrest forms part of an ongoing investigation into matters for which the MP had previously been invited twice in February 2026.

Deputy Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Dr Justice Srem-Sai, said the investigation concerns alleged unauthorised financial transactions at SIC Life Savings & Loans Company Ltd, including suspected financial loss, dissipation of public funds and money laundering.

The allegations remain under investigation and have not been determined by a court.
