President Mahama Hands Over 40 Vehicles to Enhance Police Operational Capacity

The Ghana Police Service has received 40 brand-new armoured vehicles to strengthen operational capacity and enhance public safety nationwide.

The handing-over ceremony was held on Thursday, December 4, and attended by President John Mahama, government officials, and senior police leadership.

Addressing officers, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Christian Tetteh Yohunu assured that the vehicles would be strategically deployed and properly maintained, while expressing gratitude to the government for prioritising the welfare of the police.

“We sincerely thank the government for thinking about us and prioritising our welfare. We assure you that the vehicles will be well-maintained and deployed effectively to achieve their intended objectives,” he stated.

The event, attended by President Mahama, Interior Minister Muntaka Mubarak, and numerous senior police officers, underscored the government’s commitment to supporting law enforcement agencies.

IGP Yohunu highlighted that the new armoured vehicles would significantly improve the Service’s ability to respond to emergencies, secure communities, and maintain law and order. He also urged officers to use the assets responsibly in fulfilling their mission of protecting life and property across Ghana.
