The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has strongly condemned recent attacks on its staff while they were carrying out their professional duties, describing the incidents as disturbing and unacceptable.

In a statement issued on Saturday, February 21, 2026, the Service stressed that mutual respect between healthcare workers and the public is essential to delivering quality care to patients and clients.

GHS reaffirmed its full support for personnel who discharge their responsibilities diligently, warning that acts of aggression, intimidation, or violence against staff will not be tolerated.

Director-General Samuel Kaba Akoriyea assured that the Service remains committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment across all its facilities. He said the GHS will collaborate closely with security agencies to enhance protective measures and safeguard both healthcare workers and patients.
