Patricia Osei Boateng, a well‑known Kumawood movie star, has been denied bail and remanded in police custody as her case continues to unfold in connection with an alleged armed robbery and carjacking syndicate.

The development came on Monday, March 16, 2026, during a hearing at the Asokwa Circuit Court 2, where her lawyer, Richard Acquah Esq., applied for bail. Presiding judge Her Honour Mrs. Vida Achiaa Yeboah refused the bail request and ordered that the actress remain in police custody while investigations continue. She is expected to reappear in court on March 24, 2026.

The case has drawn significant public attention after reports linked Patricia Osei Boateng to an armed robbery syndicate allegedly associated with her late husband, Eric Antwi Duku. Authorities say the syndicate was involved in serious criminal activities, including a violent carjacking that resulted in the shooting death of Andrews Amankwa in the Ashanti Region earlier this year.

Previously declared wanted by the police over her alleged role in the syndicate’s operations, Boateng surrendered herself to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters in Accra on February 26, 2026, accompanied by her lawyer. She was subsequently transferred to the Kumasi Central Police Command.

According to reports, some allegations include claims that she may have assisted members of the syndicate by disguising herself in nursing attire to help them evade security during their criminal operations.

The court’s decision to deny bail means that the actress will remain in custody as the police continue their investigations into her alleged involvement in the criminal network.
