Mr. Seth Gyapong Oware of the Cybersecurity Authority (CSA) has emphasized the urgent need for Ghana to take decisive action in securing its digital future through effective legislation and regulatory frameworks.

According to him, Ghanaians must recognize that “we are not in normal times,” stressing that building a safe and sustainable digital environment must begin now.

Mr. Gyapong Oware acknowledged that while there is freedom online, users must prioritize their safety and security.

Speaking at the Bright Conversations on Cybersecurity, he urged the public to be more aware of cybercrime threats, noting that many victims of online scams suffer not only financial losses but also psychological distress.

He further called for the development of stronger policies to guide online activities, stressing that the CSA cannot tackle the challenge of cybercrime alone and needs collective effort from all stakeholders.
