Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip have killed five Palestinians, including two children, over the past 24 hours, according to medical sources cited by Anadolu.

In the latest incident, Israeli artillery struck a classroom sheltering displaced Palestinians in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, killing a seven-year-old child.

Earlier, Israeli forces reportedly targeted Palestinians in the Rimal neighbourhood of Gaza City, killing two people.

In another attack, an Israeli drone struck a civilian vehicle in Gaza City, killing Palestinian man Youssef Aqila and his nine-year-old daughter, Wafaa.

Wafaa had reportedly started the new school year earlier that day. Images circulated from the scene showed her schoolbooks and school supplies scattered following the strike.

Several other Palestinians were wounded in separate attacks in Gaza City’s Tuffah neighbourhood and the Shati refugee camp. Four of those injured were taken to Al-Shifa Medical Complex for treatment.

At dawn on Sunday, Israeli fighter jets also carried out two airstrikes on an evacuated commercial building near the “yellow line” in Tuffah. The strikes destroyed the former Al-Sakhra commercial complex and reportedly injured nine Palestinians, including residents and displaced people sheltering nearby.

Israeli reconnaissance drones were also reported to have continued intensive low-altitude flights over large parts of western Gaza.

The reported attacks come amid an ongoing ceasefire agreement that has been in effect in Gaza since October 10, 2025.

According to figures from Gaza’s Health Ministry cited in the report, Israeli violations of the ceasefire have resulted in 1,344 Palestinian deaths and 4,464 injuries.

The broader conflict has caused a devastating humanitarian toll, with more than 73,000 Palestinians reportedly killed and over 174,000 injured, while large parts of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure have been destroyed or damaged.
