IGP Promotes 25 Police Officers for Robbery Arrests, Cocaine Interception
The officers were rewarded for their roles in major robbery arrests and the interception of 866 parcels of suspected cocaine at Tema Harbour.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno has promoted 25 police personnel in recognition of their exceptional performance and contribution to the fight against crime.
The personnel were rewarded for their roles in separate operations across the Bono East, Tema and Western Central Police Regions, including the arrest of robbery suspects and the interception of suspected cocaine at the Tema Harbour.
Some of the officers were recognised for helping to arrest six suspects linked to a robbery in which GH¢300,000 was allegedly stolen from a victim along the Portor-Kawempe stretch of the Kintampo-Buipe Highway on July 19, 2026.
Others were commended for their role in the arrest of four suspected members of a robbery syndicate allegedly linked to a violent robbery at Wassa Akropong in the Tarkwa area.
The officers were also recognised for their contribution to the recent interception of 866 parcels of suspected cocaine at the Tema Harbour.
The promoted personnel include Chief Inspectors Bede Nwinbomeh and Joe Tetteh; General Sergeants Elijah Ndaga Yinimi and Kaifan Sulemanna; General Corporals Owusu Ansah Evans and Tansang Jonathan; and General Lance Corporals Osei Christopher Bonny, Kyei Francis, Ofori Francis, Anim Dominic and Asante Isaac.
Others are General Constables Adam Bakari Alhassan and Bakai Mark; Detective Chief Inspector Frank Dzah; Detective Inspectors Edem Ametowoga, Abroso and Vincent Dankwah; and Detective Sergeants Salifu Yakubu and Samuel Mordzifa.
Six additional personnel were also promoted to their next ranks in recognition of their contribution to the fight against crime.
According to the Ghana Police Service, the promotions were based on the officers’ dedication, professionalism, courage and commitment to maintaining law and order.
Chief Inspectors Bede Nwinbomeh and Joe Tetteh have also been granted automatic entry to the Police Academy.
The IGP and members of the Police Management Board (POMAB) congratulated the promoted personnel and urged them to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, dedication and commitment in the discharge of their duties.
