The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has announced a postponement in the payment of two allowances for education sector workers, originally scheduled for November 2025.

According to the department, a technical issue during the final payroll run prevented the allowances from being processed on time.

The delay is part of ongoing efforts to ensure timely payment of salaries and allowances to all public sector employees, despite occasional technical setbacks.

In a statement released on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, the CAGD assured affected workers that the allowances would be included in the December 2025 payroll, scheduled for disbursement on December 18, 2025.

“The processing of these allowances was temporarily paused to prevent any disruption to the payment of November salaries for all Government of Ghana workers. We regret the inconvenience caused and sincerely appreciate your patience,” the statement read.
