Gov’t Committed To Development; Akosombo-Gyakiti Road To See Bitumen Soon – Deputy Finance Minister Assures
Officers are being equipped to assess payments, address beneficiary concerns and resolve data-related issues during the two-week exercise.

The Deputy Minister for Finance and Member of Parliament for Asuogyaman, Thomas Ampem Nyarko, has reiterated government’s commitment to addressing the needs of Ghanaians.
According to him, works on the Akosombo-Gyakiti road are progressing steadily and bitumen will soon be applied to bring relief to chiefs and people of the area and pave way for smooth movement of goods and services.
He described the Chief of Akwamu-Adumasa, Oyiakekyere Nana Ansah Kwao IV, as a development-oriented chief who always associates with development lovers. He also announced some infrastructure development for teachers of Adjena Senior High School.
Hon. Ampem Nyarko made the remarks during the commemoration of the 15th anniversary of Oyiakekyere Nana Ansah Kwao IV as Chief of Akwamu-Adumasa in the Asuogyaman District.
Meanwhile, the Omanhene of the Akwamu Traditional Area, Odeneho Kwafo Akoto III, eulogized Oyiakekyere Nana Ansah Kwao IV for being instrumental in the development of Adumasa.
He however announced that there is currently no chief in Gyakiti town and sanctioned the Adumasahene and the Queenmother of Gyakiti to work in tandem to install a new chief for the community to end disputes surrounding leadership in Gyakiti.
Speaking in an interview, Oyiakekyere Nana Ansah Kwao IV recounted his 15-year journey of leadership. He noted that safe drinking water remains a challenge to the community although they have some mechanized boreholes.
He added that the completion of the road construction will open investment opportunities for the community and its environs, but called on his subjects to collaborate with him to address the needs of the community.
On education, he highlighted some pragmatic measures he has put in place to enhance effective teaching and learning in the area.
“I will focus on teachers and their attitude towards teaching. Some think the community is a rural community, therefore once they are posted here they do things anyhow. But now I will be tough on them. If government and the community are providing them a conducive environment, they must also do their all to help the students,” he added.
He encouraged the youth in the community and its environs to embrace job opportunities in the area rather than migrating to urban towns for the same job opportunities offered them in their local community.
