Francis Owusu-Akyaw Supports Akyease Homecoming and Football Pitch Project with GH¢20K, Jerseys, Trophies

The Member of Parliament for the Juaben Constituency, Francis Owusu-Akyaw, has made a cash donation of GH¢20,000 to support the Akyease Homecoming celebration and the construction of the Akyease football pitch, reaffirming his commitment to community development and youth empowerment.

The presentation, made yesterday, forms part of the MP’s broader support for the event and the community. Prior to the cash donation, Hon. Owusu-Akyaw had already contributed sets of jerseys, footballs, a trophy, and 500 bags of sachet water to ensure the success of the programme.

Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Owusu-Akyaw emphasized the importance of investing in communities through sports, unity, and development-driven initiatives. According to him, homecoming celebrations serve as a powerful platform to reconnect communities, inspire the youth, and mobilise support for vital local infrastructure such as sports facilities.

He noted that the development of the Akyease football pitch will not only enhance sporting activities in the area but also create opportunities for young people to nurture their talents and engage in productive social activities. He further reiterated that supporting such projects remains central to his vision for the continued progress of communities within the Juaben Constituency.

The occasion brought together several distinguished personalities and stakeholders, including Nana Asafo-Adjei Ayeh (Member of Parliament for Bosome Freho), Eunice Ohenewa Ansu (Juaben Municipal Chief Executive), and Nana Tabono Bonsu III (Akyeasehene), alongside traditional leaders, community stakeholders, and a large number of enthusiastic youth.

Hon. Owusu-Akyaw commended the people of Akyease for what he described as a “wonderful initiative” and assured them of his continued support for programmes and projects that promote development, youth empowerment, and community progress.

The MP’s gesture has been widely welcomed by residents and participants, many of whom described the support as timely and significant for both the homecoming celebration and the long-term sporting development of the community.
