Four Dead, Several Injured in Fatal Accra–Kumasi Highway Crash
Wrongful overtaking suspected as deadly crash claims four lives

Four people have died and several others sustained injuries following a serious road accident at Odumasi on the Accra–Kumasi Highway in the Asante Akyem Central Municipality.
The crash occurred on Monday and involved a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter bus with registration number GE 6024-22 and a private vehicle near the Rider Iron and Steel Company.
According to preliminary reports, the Sprinter bus was travelling from Accra to Kumasi while the private car was heading in the opposite direction when one of the drivers allegedly attempted a wrongful overtaking manoeuvre, leading to a head-on collision.
The impact killed four passengers instantly at the scene, while others suffered severe injuries. Emergency responders transported the injured victims to the Konongo-Odumasi Government Hospital for urgent treatment, while additional survivors were taken to Hope Care Hospital.
The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Yawkwei Steward Morgue for preservation and identification.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash.
