Female Teacher, 3 Others Arrested Over Alleged Kidnapping Of Suspected MoMo Fraudster
A female teacher and three others are under investigation after allegedly abducting a suspected MoMo fraudster to recover GH¢44,800 reportedly lost in a scam.

A female teacher and three others have been arrested and are under investigation for allegedly kidnapping a 30-year-old man suspected of defrauding the teacher of GH¢44,800.
The teacher, identified as Mavis Badu, reportedly lost GH¢24,800 from her mobile money wallet and GH¢20,000 from her bank account after falling victim to an alleged MoMo fraud scheme on September 3.
According to the teacher’s sister, Afia Adutwumwaa, the family traced one of the telephone numbers allegedly used in the fraud to the suspect, Bismark Amoh, a resident of Assin Fosu.
A friend of Mavis reportedly posed as a woman interested in a relationship and lured Bismark to Kumasi, where he was allegedly seized and held for about three days.
The suspects allegedly demanded GH¢45,000 for his release, with relatives reportedly making partial payments after receiving pictures of him tied with ropes.
Bismark was later released and the four suspects were arrested by police in the Ashanti Region.
Afia alleged that during the confrontation, Bismark admitted involvement in the fraud and mentioned other individuals allegedly connected to the operation.
The family said GH¢19,500 was eventually recovered, leaving a balance of GH¢25,300.
Relatives of those in custody are calling for a thorough investigation into the matter.
