Djokovic Breaks Down in Tears After Shock US Open First-Round Exit

Novak Djokovic was reduced to tears after suffering a stunning first-round defeat to Argentina’s Mariano Navone at the US Open, in a match that highlighted the physical challenges facing the 39-year-old tennis great.

“I don’t want to take too much out of Mariano’s win. Congrats to him, he’s a nice guy and a fighter – but I didn’t enjoy myself.”

Despite the disappointment, Djokovic managed to raise a smile as he congratulated the 25-year-old Navone, ranked 49th in the world, on a memorable victory.
