Cristiano Ronaldo has been included in new Portugal manager Jorge Jesus’ first squad, ending speculation that the 41-year-old could retire from international football.
Ronaldo had been uncertain about his international future after Portugal were eliminated by eventual champions Spain in the World Cup round of 16 in July.
The Al-Nassr forward has now been selected in a 25-man squad for Portugal’s four Nations League matches, scheduled between 24 September and 4 October.
Jesus took over as Portugal manager following Roberto Martinez’s departure after the team’s World Cup exit.
The 72-year-old coach previously worked with Ronaldo at Al-Nassr last season, when the Saudi club won the Saudi Pro League for the first time in seven years.
Ronaldo has scored 146 goals in 233 appearances for Portugal.
