NPP flagbearer hopeful Kwabena Agyepong has called on the New Patriotic Party to return to the founding values that defined its early years, emphasizing volunteerism, selfless service, and dedication to democratic principles.

Speaking in an interview on Thursday, November 20, Ing. Kwabena Agyepong explained that his campaign theme, “NPP Going Back to Our Roots,” reflects a commitment to reviving the party’s original spirit of courage, sacrifice, and merit-based service.

“Our founders operated under military dictatorship, showing immense courage, determination, and a commitment to volunteerism. They fought for democracy without seeking personal gain,” he said.

He argued that over time, the party has drifted from these core principles, with materialism and self-interest gradually overshadowing service and integrity. “We need to restore the values that made us a party of national pride, a party of people willing to sacrifice for democracy and development,” Ing. Kwabena Agyepong stated.

Reflecting on his personal political journey, he shared that he witnessed firsthand the dedication that drove the party in its formative years. “I want to use my experience to instill this spirit in future generations—showing that politics is about service, not personal gain,” he concluded.
