Liverpool manager Arne Slot says he has “every reason to believe” he will remain in charge of the club next season, despite a challenging campaign in charge of the Premier League side.
Slot, who replaced Jürgen Klopp in 2024, guided Liverpool to the Premier League title in his debut season. However, this term has proven more difficult, with inconsistent performances and results drawing criticism from supporters.

The Reds currently sit fourth in the table and are not yet guaranteed qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League, with two matches left to play. As a result, Liverpool are set to finish the season without a trophy.
Despite growing fan frustration, there has been no indication from the club’s hierarchy that Slot’s position is under threat heading into the summer.
Speaking about his future, Slot said he believes he will continue in the role, pointing to his contract and ongoing discussions within the club.
“I don’t think I am deciding that alone by myself but I have every reason to believe I am the Liverpool manager next season,” he said.
“First of all, I am contracted to this club and second of all from all the talks we are having. That is my take on it.”
He acknowledged the disappointment of the season compared to the last, adding that criticism is expected when results fall short.
“If you don’t have the best season, especially if you compare with last season… then it is also normal that criticism comes,” he said.
Slot added that responsibility is shared across the club, including players, coaching staff and management, when results do not meet expectations.
“We have all had our share… that is how things work nowadays if you don’t win the league,” he noted.
