The Western Regional Police Command has declared a man, identified as Sule Anas, wanted in connection with the alleged defilement and unnatural carnal knowledge of two minors at Fijai Zongo Central, near Sekondi.

The suspect was reportedly engaged by community leaders in the area to teach children Arabic during weekend lessons at the mosque.

According to a police statement issued on Wednesday, May 21, 2026, investigations indicate that he allegedly lured the victims into a storeroom within the mosque under the guise of performing spiritual cleansing, where the abuse is said to have occurred.

A Gender Court in Sekondi issued an arrest warrant for the suspect on Tuesday, May 20, 2026.

Police describe him as fair in complexion and about 5.7 feet tall. He is believed to be on the run and may be hiding in either Côte d’Ivoire or Togo.

The Western Regional Police Command is urging the public to assist with information on his whereabouts by contacting the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU), reporting to the nearest police station, or calling emergency lines 191 or 112.
